preschool adventurers Program

At Academy of Stars in Barrington, our focus in our pre-school/pre-kindergarten program for children ages 3 to 4 years old is on helping each child develop decision making skills, cooperation with peers and adults, communication skills, problem solving, math, reading readiness, language development and other social/emotional and cognitive milestones. We do that through providing lots of love, nurturing, stimulation and joy every day for your child.

Our teachers put an emphasis on encouraging independence, creative thinking, problem solving and language development through interactive, hands on experiences. Individual and small group activities focus on developing pre-reading, pre-writing and pre-math skills throughout your child’s day.

With over 17 years of experience in personal childcare and educational services, we love to watch your child learn and grow. All of our programs feature a low teacher-to-child ratios for personalized attention. Our teachers are carefully selected, are trained and educated in early childhood, CPR, first aid and are also required to keep current in continuing education. Our teachers give their undivided attention to creating a calm, stimulating and creative environment for your child. We have full day and part-time options available for your needs.

A look into your child’s day at Academy of Stars…

At Academy of Stars in Barrington, our teachers continue to encourage sensory exploration, problem-solving and creative expression through experimenting interactive stations. Our teachers plan lessons based on a thematic unit which are reinforced in our various centers throughout the day. We strike a balance between educational activities and play and preparing your child for kindergarten.

Our mission is to provide a nurturing, stimulating and academically challenging environment where each child can develop self-confidence, build new friendships and develop at his or her own pace. We teach respect for people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.

This school has blown us away with everything it has to offer. From teaching my son to always have manners, to reading to the younger kids, to caring and respecting our elders with the monthly visits to the elderly home, to counting in Spanish and to weekly piano lessons. The teachers never cease to amaze me with the unique talents each one brings.”
